Annual Woodcutting

It is already that time of the year when my family gets together and go up to the cabin and clear out some dead trees, stock up on wood for the cabin and for our homes.  We are lucky to have a wood burning stove.  It keeps our house warm all winter long.  So cozy!

Jeff came back from his trip just in time to go up.  He missed it last year.

The girls were very excited about going up.

Gearing up for rubberband war.

This is also the time when we do deep cleaning in the cabin.

and the chains.
We got the wood cut and loaded.  I was lucky enough to be able to escape for a nice long run.  It was one of those runs where I was able to keep going and going,  So beautiful and there was no pain.  I ran for 80 minutes and felt like I could have gone further.  It was one of my funnest runs.  Ended up with some pretty good blisters and a hoarse voice, but I can't wait to do it again!  However, it may be a while before I can find a time, place and get lucky with my knee again.
